The prestigious Snohomish County Sports Hall of Fame is now inviting nominations for its 2025 induction class. From February 1 to March 1, individuals can submit candidates who have made significant contributions to sports in the region. This esteemed institution honors those who have achieved remarkable success on state, national, or international levels and brought acclaim to Snohomish County. The selection process aims to recognize athletes, coaches, teams, and contributors who have left an indelible mark on the sporting world.
The nomination period opens on February 1, 2024, and closes on March 1, 2024. Candidates must meet specific criteria to be considered. For instance, they should have resided in Snohomish County during or before their recognition phase. While birthplace is not a requirement, nominees must have lived within the county for at least five years. Athletes and teams become eligible for nomination five years after their final competition. Coaches are eligible three years post-retirement or after ceasing coaching activities. Contributors are evaluated based on their service to the community without the necessity of retirement.
To facilitate the nomination process, an online form is available for public submission. Interested parties can conveniently complete and send this form electronically or through postal mail. The organizers encourage widespread participation to ensure a diverse and representative group of nominees. By engaging the public in this way, the commission hopes to uncover deserving individuals who may have otherwise gone unrecognized.
The highlight of the year will be the banquet scheduled for September 24, 2025, at the Edward D. Hansen Conference Center, Angel Of The Winds Arena. This event serves as both a celebration and acknowledgment of the honorees' achievements. Attendees will witness the induction of new members into the hall of fame, commemorating their contributions to sports in Snohomish County. Through this ceremony, the community pays tribute to these outstanding figures, preserving their legacy for future generations.
